Our days revolved generally around the Mobile Ambulance Service. This involved morning and afternoon clinics 6 days a week, serving 9 villages in the surrounding area. We performed physical exams, wrote prescriptions, gave IM injections, and collaborated our knowledge with our team of doctors and nurses. We really enjoyed spending time with our team, and the collegial atmosphere with the hospital at your door service.
Along with this we played some sports with the boys from the hostel and spent time helping them with their English homework. We also participated in the Monsoon celebration, in the Tree Planting Ceremony, in the Independence Day festivities, and got to wear traditional saris and wreaths.
We had social evenings and temple visits with the educational staff, and were welcomed into the houses of our medical colleagues for lunch and tea breaks.

Our favourite part of the volunteering was sharing a masala chai, mohenthal cake or Sprite with our patients and colleagues.
We spent time with Janmangal Swami in the Guashala getting to know the cows and peacocks, and watched the play the students performed with the other workawayer, Giulia.
We had a great time, and highly recommend Gokuldham Nar to other medical professionals.
