Gazebos

Gazebos – Rest facilities for travellers

Our Campus is located besides a very busy road (the Bagodara-Vasda Expressway) that is in constant use by travellers. To help weary travellers rest and recoup their energy, we have built several charming Gazebo structures within our Campus grounds, right by the entrance gates. Travellers and general visitors come to refresh the body, mind and soul in the midst of this remarkable lush green environment. They are welcome to visit the rest of our grounds and facilities before setting off on their journey.

Gaushala (Cow Shelter)

Shelter for Gir Cows

Shri Gaupad Gir Gaushala
।। गावो विश्वस्य मातरः ।। (भविष्यपुराण)

The Cow is representative of the divine and natural beneficence. These gentle creatures are associated with various deities, notably Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva and Lord Indra, as well as our Goddesses in attribution of motherhood. Cows, among other animals such as monkeys, elephants and tigers, are highly revered animals in India, and warrant veneration and protection. Hindu culture, therefore, expressly forbids any harm to cows.

Throughout history, Cows have provided human beings across the world with so much in their produce. Milk, ghee, butter, cheese and butter-milk (chaas) have been part of the Indian staple diet for millennia. Non-dairy produce, such as its dung and urine have been used in a variety of forms in building homes, medicine and in performing yagna rituals. Cows generously give far more than they take. At Gokuldham, we have built large eco-friendly sheds and compounds within our grounds to specifically provide care and protection for traditional Gir cows. A team of eight staff manage the day-to-day operations of this facility.

Yagnashala

Yagnashala (Place for conducting rituals)

।। अयं यज्ञो विश्वस्य भुवनस्य नाभि : ।। (अथर्ववेद)

The Yagnashala at Gokuldham Nar is uniquely constructed in the form of an octagon, a sacred shape symbolizing universal peace and the welfare of the cosmos. Its perimeter is adorned with 57 intricately carved elephants, symbolizing strength and wisdom, while two rows of four graceful swans welcome devotees as they ascend the steps to enter.
The architectural style of the Yagnashala harmoniously reflects the design of the main temple, maintaining a unified spiritual ambiance. At its heart lies the sacred Yagna Kunda, where a ritual fire is kindled daily. For at least an hour each day, offerings of traditional sweets and sacred herbal woods are made to Lord Vishnu and Lord Hanuman, invoking prosperity, peace, and divine blessings for the world.
Inside, eight finely crafted sculptures of revered spiritual leaders are positioned at each internal corner of the octagon, solemnly overseeing the Yagna. On the external side of each corner, their gaze turns outward—symbolically extending blessings to all directions of the universe.
